Is seafood from the Gulf of Mexico safe to eat? Federal government agencies are trying to reassure the public that it is. But during the first week of shrimping season in the Gulf, the fisherfolk in the region say they aren’t so sure. I don't blame them for not wanting to be held accountable if the seafood is not any good.

This is not something to play around with and I think if the FDA is saying that the food is safe then they need to be the ones held accountable.
