On June 28-30, Free Speech Radio News and Pacifica Radio aired complete coverage of the Elena Kagan Supreme Court confirmation hearings in the U.S. Senate Judiciary Committee.

With the retirement of longtime U.S. Supreme Court Justice John Paul Stevens, President Obama nominated Solicitor General Elena Kagan to replace him on the Court.  With a strong majority of Democrats in the Senate, Kagan's confirmation is all but assured.

FSRN covered the hearings in our regular newscast, as well as live complete coverage.  Our news stories on the hearings are available online at Day 1, Day 2, and Day 3.

Listen to the archives of FSRN's complete live coverage of the hearings to find out more about Elena Kagan's background and how her tenure will color the court. Also listen for discussion of Kagan's positions on civil liberties issues, executive powers, corporate "personhood", and other big questions that have recently faced the Court. Plus, hear Republican Senators pander to the far right in their questioning.

Hosted by FSRN's Leigh Ann Caldwell and Pacifica's Mitch Jeserich, mp3 archives of the broadcast are available here:
