The remnants of the Deepwater Horizon rig began spewing oil into the Gulf of Mexico on April 20th, 2010. The blown-out oil well gushed an estimated 53 thousand barrels a day into the ocean for 87 days.

The largest oil spill in history has dramatically affected Southern Louisiana's bayou communities. In this special Labor Day documentary, Julia Botero takes us to Terrebonne Parish for a look at how wetlands loss and the oil and gas industry have affected fishing communities and altered the way residents see themselves and the delicate place they call home.
