Election Unspun tends to stay away from the polls. But we're going to break that rule today just in case you don't consume any other media and have no idea where the Presidential race stands. Democrat Barack Obama seems to be pulling ahead, even in states that Bush captured: Florida, Virginia, Iowa, Nevada and Colorado. They continue to be battleground states, along with states John Kerry took in 2004: Minnesota, New Hampshire, and Pennsylvania. Obama is polling ahead in those states too.

Alaska's Supreme Court has ruled that an investigation on Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin can move forward. Palin is being investigated for firing her public safety commissioner for not firing a state trooper, a Palin ex in-law. he court intervened after the Alaskan Republican party attempted to stop the probe who said the investigation was being used to sabotage the election.
