Karen Miller is one of FSRN’s Capitol Hill reporters. A born and bred Hoosier (that means she’s from Indiana for all you non-Midwest types) she was first introduced to Pacifica when she used to listen on the beach in Santa Barbara, California where she lived for 9 years. Her background includes working in journalism in various places around the country; WBST-Muncie, Indiana, KVEN-Ventura, California, Marcus Media, Indianapolis, Indiana and as an intern at CNN in their Washington DC Bureau. In addition to her media background, Karen has also worked in the non-profit world. She is most proud of her work advocating for persons with developmental disabilities and has also traveled to Africa to work in aids orphanages and clinics. She came to DC in 2005 and soon began anchoring the morning news on Pacifica’s DC station WPFW. She is currently a fill-in anchor for Pacifica Headline news and also works with American Urban Radio Networks. In addition to her journalism work, Karen does workshops for African American women on how they view men. Always an interesting topic!!!
