November 11, 2008: Winter Soldier

Winter Soldier is an event that was first held in 1971, in which veterans of the Vietnam War gathered in Washington DC to testify about the atrocities they had committed or witnessed during the war. Now, Iraq Veterans Against the War have resurrected the tradition by holding a number of Winter Soldier events, beginning with a national event near Washington DC in May, and followed by regional events. On this Veteran’s Day, KBOO’s Jenka Soderberg, Mike Hoffman and Mel Reslor bring us these voices from a recent Winter Soldier event held in Portland, Oregon.
